Model 1300 XTR

Sorry for the delay in responding to your question but my interest is in old shotguns made before 1940. Sometimes when I have a free moment, I'll look up information on more modern shotguns. There is no serial number-year made tables for a Winchester Model 1300 in my reference book but there is a lot of other information on the gun.

Chambered for 12- and 20-gauge, with 3' chambers. Take-down gun offered with various length ventilated rib barrels, with screw-in choke tubes. Has blued alloy frame, with walnut stock. Introduced in 1978.

Model 1300 Waterfowl. Chambered for 12-gauge 3' only. Has 30' ventilated rib barrel, with screw-in choke tubes. Matte-blued, with satin-finished walnut stock and recoil pad. Introduced in 1984. Laminated WinTuff stock made available in 1988. NOTE: Add $10 for laminated WinTuff stock. I can say that the model 1200 Winchester shotgun was made from 1964-1981.The model 120 ranger was the entry level shotgun to the model 1200.Winchester did not keep records of the serial numbers assigned to the years of production of the model 120 ranger shotgun,but I can assume that yours was made during the same time span as the higher level.
